Louise Heighes crafts her handmade leather artworks at her studio in Margate, England. Building on her fashion background, she cuts, weaves and folds the material into 3D shapes to create unique art pieces for the interior design market.

This piece is inspired by the short, tightly packed feathers of a bird. A repeat pattern comprising rows of simple discs generates a rhythmic structure that intrigues and mesmerises. Louise creates the textured artwork by making incisions in the top leather sheet and carefully pushing through pieces from another sheet below. This monochrome design in shiny and matte leather will add a distinctive decorative touch to any contemporary interior.
